The computer lab provides an opportunity for students to practice using technology. Students in grades one through four visit the lab once a week for 45 minutes. Kindergartners have the opportunity to visit the lab on a weekly basis. There are a number of programs and skills that the students will learn about during the school year. Throughout their years from Kindergarten to fourth grade, students will be exposed to:
Basic Computer Knowledge Keyboarding Word Processing KidPix Kidspiration and Inspiration Online Research Online Safety Netiquette and Nethics Google Earth Video Editing and Storyboarding Multimedia Presentations
All lessons taught in the lab are based on National Educational Technology Standards set forth by the International Society for Technology in Education. Our technology mission statement is: "We believe our school should begin to prepare students for tomorrow's world of technology." Teachers also bring students to the lab for projects that are integrated with the common core curriculum. Our common goal is to prepare the students for life beyond elementary school, and to equip them with knowledge and skills that are necessary in today's world.
