Save the Date: School Wide Student Art Show Tuesday, May 15, 2018 5:30-7:00pm This year the Art Show will be a Gallery Walk through the school. Students have selected two of their personal best pieces to display in the hallways. Each student also has a Lobster Buoy Sculpture on exhibit as part of a group sculpture.
The Visual Art Program provides students with opportunities to explore and experiment with a wide variety of art materials and techniques.
The Visual Art Program emphasizes the process of creative expression, and encourages problem solving, innovative thinking and collaboration with others.
Students will gain exposure to contemporary and historical artworks and artists through formal lessons and informal discussions.
In their weekly visits to the Art Room, students will learn to communicate their ideas and interests and make connections with the world around them.
The school year will culminate with a Student Art Show where all students will showcase selections of their work from throughout the year.
